Espresso Tasting - Fundraising event

We have great coffees from various roasters around the world for you to taste

This is a great opportunity to try these espressos – some that are available in Toronto, and some that are not. We will have various commercial and home espresso machines for brewing the espressos.

Everyone is invited to come and stop by for as long or as short as they want. This is a FREE event, but donations are welcome to support Pakistan Flood Relief and Coffee Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished coffee-farming families around the world.

There will be a BBQ lunch available for a nominal fee, with all proceeds going to charity.

All extra coffee and extra donated coffee will be part of an auction to raise funds.

You don’t want to miss this event and all donations will be going to a great cause.

Cupping & Tasting Sun, Aug 8, 2010 3pm

Cupping is a great way for coffee professional to sample coffees. It can be done very quickly and efficiently. But coffee are not brewed and consume in this way by the consumer.

In this session, we will do side by side comparision of "Cupping Method", and "Normal Brewed method" tasting of the same coffee. We will taste few Single Origin and Blends

Espresso Tasting Sat, June 19, 2pm

This tasting event will focus on espresso and Cappuccino. We will talk about basic espresso brewing technique. We will taste some Single Origin Espresso and Blended Espresso.

COFFEE TASTING (BREW METHODS) Sat, May 22, 10am

There are many great ways to brew great coffees. This tasting session will focus on different brew methods. We will be brewing the same coffee on Chemex, Clever, Hario V60, Siphon and French Press. This is a great opportunity to do a side by side comparision and see what brewer method you like and know how it should taste. We will discuss the characteristic of each brew method. The event is free and is open for anyone.

COFFEE TASTING SESSION MAY 4, 7PM

We are going to have our first coffee tasting session at Social. The theme will be Single Origin coffee. Our coffees will be optimally roasted to showcase the bean’s Origin Character. We have a variety of great coffees for you to taste, many of which will be some of the best from their respective countries. Ethiopia Sidamo, Kenya Wamuguma, Sumatra, El Salavor Finca Alaska, Colombia La Josefina, Brazil Chapadao de Ferro and Panama Esmeralda Geisha. We will brew the coffee on the Chemex. We will explain and discuss tasting terms that are commonly used. This is a great opportunity to taste great coffees from wide variety origin. The event will be held next Tues May 4, 7pm .
